This charming example of Bohemian art glass is perfectly formed in the shape of a heart, elegant in its abstract simplicity. It was created by hand in a Czech atelier by glass artist Jaroslov Svoboda. The tradition of Bohemian glassmaking dates back to the late 16th century at the Imperial Court of Rudolf II in what is now known as the Czech Republic. Surviving centuries of change and the fall of communism, the style flourishes today in public and private collections throughout Europe and the United States.
